HElp with Dynamic Variables

I want to create a plugin or at least a way to insert "custom" text gathered from a php script i've created and put it wherever the cursor is in the xinha box, kinda lookin into the plugin creation method but if someone could show me how to insert custom text into the box i can just create links above the box that correspond to the dynamic text insertable. I have a script to do such a thing with javascript but does not work when xinha takes over the box..

You could use InsertSnippet2 plugin.  Look at the readme file, and you will also see there is a sample snippets.php file which shows you how PHP can feed into the Snippets.
