Hello James,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Of cause I'm a newbie to xinha (in fact, since yesterday) and the very surprising thing is that I changed absolutely nothing and yesterday everything was ok but today the toolbar is gone (Linux, Firefox) and probably more functionality. Surely this seems very strange and can't be explained in terms of, for example, permissions.
However Firebug reports to errors:

When I change the language to English, _editor_lang = "en"; the latter error disappears.
Running against the apache2 web-server from XP seems to be ok, from IE as well as Firefox.
I'm not sure if this is a bug in xinha … may be it is!?
Looking forward for some clue!

No,no,no (almost blushing) the web browser cache in my Linux system was full of sonninpaska (bullshit in Finnish); after clearing the cache everything works fine again...
All error indicarors pointed to something like that..., sorry, I should have thought of that of cause..
So, PROBLEM SOLVED.. shall I indicate that somewhere?
