Option to not clone <p> id attribute when splitting paragraph in two?

When I am editing a paragraph in Xinha and press enter in the middle of the paragraph, it creates two paragraphs, as expected.  However, the attributes (and I suspect styles) are all cloned in the new paragraph.  This is alright, except that the id should not be cloned, as it must be unique.  Therefore it would be ideal if the id were stripped in the new paragraph.  I searched the web as much as I could for a configuration solution for this, as well as browsing the source code, but could not find a fix, or even where the attributes are being cloned in the code.

I would like to know if this behaviour is configurable, or if this is just a bug in the code. Ideally, the id should never be cloned, as this is not valid html.

Thanks. :)

It should never be cloned, no.  Submit a bug (although, it may be tricky to fix, this sounds like "browser behaviour").
