Xinha_0.96beta2.tar.bz2 and quirks mode problem (IE8&IE6) ?

Hello,

I installed Xinha_0.96beta2.zip (IIS/ASP.NET)

my web pages load in quirks mode on IE only (i.e. no doctype is defined, I tested IE6 on windows-ce and IE8 on vista)

I found that the icons all have 1 or 2 pixels of spacing between them.

switching to another doctype fixes that (but it messes up the rest of the application, which is too much work to redesign :-( )

If I change the doctype in Newbie.html (causing quirks mode to be enabled), then I see the same problem :

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

Does anybody know how to fix this ?
