How to use htmlRemoveTags

I'm using Xinha in my web app but users are getting pretty annoyed with it.

If they copy and paste content from Outlook into a bid template and then save that bid, the pasted content moves to the bottom of the bid. I think this is related to "rogue" span elements in the pasted content.

It looks like I may be able to use htmlRemoveTags to get rid of these span elements. Note that I want to get rid of the span elements but not the content between the start and end span tags. Note also that there are no span elements in the bid template.

Has anyone used this feature? How would I configure htmlRemoveTags to remove span elements?
