Advenced Image Manager is very slow to load

On Mac OS X, Firefox 2, Advanced Image Manager take 5-8 secondes to load. When I have to add several images on the same textarea, it's very... annoying (holy f*****g bloody hell of f*****g window !! $*%+#@ç  §**$%£££ *rztxwztpwtz), if you see what I mean... ;+)
The rest of the site is very fast, so I suppose it's the javascript, or the readind of the folder...
I was wondering if it would be possible to keep the window open, to not have to reload it each time. You know, like a floating toolbar, or so... Maybe not.
Do you think I could post this as a feature request ?

I've just applied a tweak to ExtendedFileManager that addresses this issue. see http://xinha.python-hosting.com/ticket/1036

Do you this is already an improvement?

I think it's great !
How can I get this ? Should I wait for the next release ? Or is it possible to replace only one file ?
As I said in a previous message, I try to upgrade to 9.3.1, but I have strange errors, so I'm still with the 9.2beta
