Apologies for such a newbie question - I feel really silly, because the answer to this must be pretty obvious. However, after an hour of frustration and searching, I've decided to give up, and beg for some help from the more experienced users.
I am using FireFox 2.0.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.4.9. I use a CMS (Website Baker) that implements Xinha as an add-on. It works really well.
I am, however, experiencing this 'pesky' problem...
If I am in the middle of a page, I can type a paragraph, change its format type to "Formatted" or "Address" - thereby changing the html element type to <pre> or <address>, then hit return, and change the new paragraph back to "Normal" - thereby making the encasing element in the second paragraph a simple <p>. So, I end up with 2 paragraphs/elements in the middle of the page: one which is a <pre>/<address>, and the other which is a normal <p>. Great - that's what I want.
However, if I am in the END of the page, and this is the LAST paragraph, something strange seems to be happening. Let's say that I change this last paragraph to "Address". I type some text, then hit return. Now, this new paragraph should NOT be an 'address', so I try to change it back to "Normal". But instead of closing the 'address' element from before, and marking this new paragraph as a separate element, it NESTS the last paragraph INSIDE the previous <address> element.
There is no way to make the last paragraph 'jump outside' of the previous 'address'. The same thing happens with 'pre' ("Formatted") elements, if they are last on the page.
I have to end up changing the format of everthing altogether back to 'Normal', then changing the 2nd-last paragraph back to 'Address'. This is a pain!
Am I doing something wrong?
