Using Xinha editor in WordPress 2.04 via Firefox browser.
I love the editor, but I have a question.
When I use the editor to post a message on my blog:
If I click "apply" the publishing of the post results in moving my sidebar column to the bottom of the page rather than remaining at the top of the page where I want it.
If I simply click "OK" and ignore the "apply", the post publishes normally.
SO . . . why does this happen? And when would using the "apply" be appropriate?
Thanks.

Go ask WordPress, this Apply button must be of thier making.
I don't think so. If I open the Xinha editor on any web posting page I've encountered so far, I get on the bottom of the box 4 buttons. On the left - OPTIONS On the right - OK APPLY CANCEL.
WordPress may be doing something with APPLY, but the box is clearly generated by Xinha -- What use do you have in mind for it? How does it differ from OK?
Thanks.

There isn't any "Apply" button in Xinha. WordPress has added it. The only thing Xinha does is make the text area html editable in a WYSIWYG way. Forms and buttons to submit the html it produces belong to the application which is using Xinha.

So you say over and over, but I find it not true.
If I knew how to do so on this forum I would send you a screen shot to show you.
In lieu of that I offer this:
I go to http://www.palmbeachpost.com/local_news … crimeblog/ and click on comment. In the box for leaving my comment, I right click and select the option Xinha Here! > Xinha Here in Window.
At that point I get a screen headed by "Chrome://xinhahere - Xinha Here! - Mozilla Firefox"
That box is precisely what I describe in the earlier post(s).
I have not used WordPress. It is not even open on my browser. I am in a blog run by the Palm Beach Post News Paper. It is NOT my WordPress blog.
If you can't answer my questions about what the buttons mean, can you refer me to someone else who can. Please don't again suggest WordPress since I'm sure given this information they would say, "Why are you asking me this?"
Thanks.

That's not Xinha either - that's "Xinha Here!", a different project which uses it's own Xinha inside a Firefox plugin. That's who you need to talk to.
That would certainly explain my confusion with your answers. Thanks for your help.

Thank you, also. Your referral saved me some time.
