URL problem with ImageManager

I have installed Xinha and have it working with ImageManager but when it inserts an image the src for the image is a relative link and not the URL that is in the config.inc.php file. But the examples that come with Xinha work correctly and it is using the same config file. Can anyone help me? I have been working on this for 2 days.

I have figured it out. I moved the image directory out of the same directory that the page that was using Xinha is in and it worked. But can someone explain why this is so?
