Toggling custom CSS?

How easy would it be to be able to add functionality to toggle custom CSS on and off?

My scenario is that I'm using Xinha to edit content which loads up inside a <div> on the actual page, defined by a template, but the actual page background is almost black.

Because the content in Xinha is not inside the <div> from the page template, it renders on the page background, and black text on a black background is not that easy to read!

Just as it is possible to toggle table borders and HTML source, it would be nice to be able to toggle styles.

I'm prepared to have a go myself, but a few pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
