onBlur or onMouseOut

Is there a way to add an event listener such that I can detect and respond to either a mouseOut or loss of focus in the HTMLarea?

Basically, I want to prompt the user to save any changes before they leave the editor window, since I am using one window to edit some 23 comment areas on a single form.
