Image path configuration

Probably is not very clear what I'm trying to achieve. So I'm going to decribe it again:
I have back-end for content editing stored in /www/admin/ and Xinha code in /www/admin/htmlarea/.
Front-end content is displayed from /www/.
<img> tag entered in Xinha is looking for image source by default in folder where HTMLArea javascript is called from let's say /www/admin/ but Preview feature of Image Insert popup window is looking for image source in folder where is image_insert.htm file stored - means /www/admin/htmlarea/popups/.
I'd like to configure Xinha to display images properly in editing mode in textarea replacement also in Image Insert window and also in front-end. Means to have folder e.g. /www/content_images/ where all images will be stored and have them accssible from front-end and back-end.
How could I do that?
