How to retrieve text in PHP

How do I get the text out and manipulate as a variable in PHP. I originally assumed it would post using the name of the form but that doesn't seem to work.

xinha basically just replaces a textarea. the content of xinha gets submitted like the textarea would.
so it is using the name of the textarea...

Or you could do it realtime with the xmlhttprequest, but that wasnt accually answering your question.
