Is there a way to turn off the focus editor effect (where buttons in the editor turn greyed out if outside of the editor)?
Offline
it turns out whoever put in this "feature" has caused not just the greying out of the toolbar but it actually unloads and loads ALL your plugins when its activated/deactivated. This is another example of something that wasnt in old versions that is completely useless and cuases undue slowdowns and performance hits.

I think it sort of camouflages the fact that the editor looses focus here and there, I don't know. I don't like it either but hey for such a fantastic editor with so many features I gladly accept this.

actually the version i was using from a few months ago didnt have this problem at all and multiple editors in the page handled much better.

There is a reason for the initial disabled status of the editors if you have a dig through the tickets you'll find it, I can't remember off the top of my head. However it certainly doesn't unload and reload plugins - unless you're seeing something I'm not, in which case please submit a ticket.
Also remember: THIS IS BETA SOFTWARE - THINGS WILL BREAK, THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED !!!

I found the reason I made that change, http://xinha.python-hosting.com/ticket/202
essentially if you clicked a button in the toolbar before focusing the editor bad things would happen. This is the right way of fixing this, it was either just make the buttons silently not work, or make that visible by greying them out, as every other software interface does.
