Color problem

hi,
i'm new to xinha and i'm really liking it so far.
however, i have a strange problem:

i wrote a simple php script that prints  the contents of the textarea to top of the page (and inside the textarea), when you press submit.
when i select the text and try to apply a textcolor (or a background color) - it's changing colors nicely. however, when i press on submit, the text changes its color, usually to green! (why??!)

this has also happened when i tried using htmlarea.. what am i doing wrong??
