Ordering buttons in toolbar

I feel like I'm missing something really big and obvious here...

I can order the normal toolbar buttons the way I want, but when I include a plugin, it adds a button and I don't seem to have any say where it goes.   

It is possible to get all the buttons into the order you want, no?

You may need to see in the plugin code where the button is added.

Usually you can insert the button name (check the plugin code to find this) into your toolbar, before the plugin is loaded, and the plugin will use that location.
