How to get rid of all span tags?

Is there a way to get rid of all span tags in a document?  It seems the "remove formatting" button doesnt remove them completely.  Is this implemented, or can someone give me some hints on how I might do it?

I have done it on the SuperClean plugin for that, but for now it is obsolete since the development is going to another path which forces to reduce new feature. But I think, I will rewrite it in few days using new Xhina features...

Thanks for the reply!  Can you send/post your previous code?  It might help me with getting this in there.  (I have a deadline of friday to implement this)  Can you explain to me what the Xinha features are that changed that caused it to break?  Thanks for your help.

hi.. I'm wondering if the superclean plug in is working now? It doesn't seems to do anything on my mozilla OSX.
