CharCounter Plugin not working

I installed charcounter yesterday by adding 'CharCounter' to my plugin list. It is loaded because i can hit  the About Button and it displays all the plugin information, and it also moves the status bar text (ie: body > p) from the center to the left - but it doesn't display any of the text/word counter text.

Am I missing a step?

I found out this problem only occurs when I am using the silva skin. Can anyone else verify this problem?
