text changed while saving

I have write a document with the following text:

<pre>primo</pre>
<?if idoneo == 'S'>
   ha frequentato
<?end>
<pre>ultimo</pre>
-------------------------------------

the code <?if ... > and <?end> is needed for an our data replacement system, and I suppose xinha thinks this is a some wrong html tag, because after saving xinha deletes such tags, and the document right now seems like this:

-------------------------------------
<pre>primo</pre>

   ha frequentato

<pre>ultimo</pre>
--------------------------------------

Is this a bug or a feature?
Is this is a feature, is there a way to change this behavior?
