Xinha -uploaded images permissions set to 600

I just recently switched my server from mod_php to suphp. For the most part all scripts work fine except for Xinha. I noticed that when uploading images with the image manager the image permissions are set to 600 and not 644. This happens in  both Etomite and Websitebaker Xinha pluggins. Other scripts that are used to upload images work fine. Xinhas image uploader worked fined before the suphp switch. I've check the serverand the suphp settings are good.
