Loading File manager without loading a textarea...

Is there a way that I can still use the filemanager for a input area with a custom button that loads up the filemanager?

"Enter URI [_____________] or [browse server]"

Then once you select your file it auto populates the field

"Enter URI  [ /public/foo.bar ]"

I managed to do this with KFM + FCK, I love the implimentation of Xinha and would love to impliment it instead of what our software is using now but that is an important hurdle along with a few others.

Could someone let me know?
