[EFM] new directories and new files do not appear

greetings,

we are using xinha 0.95 under centos 5 with apache 2 and php 5.  we consistently see a problem where you create a new directory with the extended file manager and then go into that directory to upload files, and the directory does not appear after subsequent visits to the EFM.   that is, after creating the directory and uploading files to said directory, you close the EFM and then later open it again, you do not see the new directory.  or, even if you navigate out of the new directory you do not see it listed in the parent directory.  has anyone else seen this behaviour?  can anyone point me in the right direction to perhaps solve the problem by forcing a reload for each view of any given directory or forcing a new request rather than going to the browser cache?
